The internet has bought many opportunity's for businesses, and without the internet many wouldn't be able to carry on, this just shows how important the internet is to thousands of businesses. E-bay,Amazon and gumtree are just a few examples of internet revolved businesses. These company's rely on  people to sell their goods and also to buy others.  Company's use the internet to promote, and make themselves known, for example you may see businesses over the internet which you may never walk by or see in the street; this is great for the company's as they can promote from the internet and even from their own homes.

Advertising for businesses has been made easier for the company by things such as Facebook, for example when someone likes a advertisement page, everyone on their Facebook friends list can see that they have liked it so they will get the opportunity to like it too, this is amazing as it could start from 1 person to Hundreds of thousands. This affects society hugely, as people don't have to rely on shops being open or even visiting shops any more. This also effects the people who work for company's that only are based around shops; they are getting out priced and in some cases not even visited, this can cause redundancy and if worse came to worse then the shop may have to shut down.
